1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using 180Vault services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Description of Service
180Vault provides privacy-first applications, including TimeLock, a service that enables users to compose messages for delivery at a future date they choose.
3. User Responsibilities
Account security: You are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials.
Lawful use: You agree to use the service only for lawful purposes consistent with applicable laws.
Accurate information: You are responsible for providing accurate recipient information. Delivery failures due to inaccurate information are not 180Vault's liability.
4. Acceptable Use
TimeLock is built for personal, considered messages. The following uses are prohibited:
- You may not use TimeLock to harass, threaten, intimidate, or stalk anyone.
- You may not use TimeLock to send unsolicited commercial messages (spam).
- You may not use TimeLock to send content that is illegal, including content that exploits or endangers minors.
- You may not impersonate another person or entity.
- You may not attempt to reverse-engineer, circumvent encryption, or interfere with service infrastructure.
We may suspend your account or cancel scheduled messages if we have a credible report or strong indication of any of the above. Recipients can report a message at any time; reported messages are paused pending review. For a letter that arrives every year, a report — or the recipient's own stop link included in each delivery — pauses or stops the entire series, not just that year's delivery. It does not affect the sender's other letters.
5. After Your Death
TimeLock is built so that messages you schedule today will be delivered as planned, even if you are no longer here. This commitment is the heart of the product, and we want to be clear about how it works.
- If you have scheduled a message for delivery in the future, we will deliver it on schedule. We will not cancel it because of a request from someone other than you.
- If you've set a letter to arrive every year, each future year's delivery is treated the same as any other scheduled message under this section: it will keep arriving on schedule for as long as your account exists, whether or not a paid subscription is active or being renewed. We do not check subscription or billing status before delivering an already-scheduled yearly letter.
- We do not give family members, executors, or other third parties access to your account, your vaults, or any messages that have not yet been delivered. They will not be able to log in as you, see what you wrote, or change what you scheduled.
- Narrow exceptions: we may pause or cancel a scheduled message only in response to (a) a valid court order, (b) instructions you yourself left in your TimeLock account, or (c) a credible report that delivery would cause serious immediate harm.
If you want different behavior — for example, you would like a trusted person to be able to release or stop your messages on your behalf — that is not a feature TimeLock offers today. We may consider it in the future. For now, plan accordingly.
6. Account Deletion
You may delete your TimeLock account at any time from within the app or by following the steps on our Delete Account page.
- If you delete your account while alive, your scheduled messages are canceled and will not be delivered. This includes every future delivery of a letter set to arrive every year, not just its next scheduled instance — deleting your account stops the entire series.
- If you die without deleting your account, your scheduled messages continue per your plan, as described in “After Your Death” above.
- After deletion, we delete or anonymize personal information per the retention schedule in our Privacy Policy. Limited records may be retained where required by law.
7. Subscription Terms
Plans
TimeLock offers Free, Plus, and Pro tiers. Plus and Pro are available as monthly and annual subscriptions. Current pricing and feature limits are listed at 180vault.com/timelock.
Billing
Paid subscriptions are processed by Google Play Billing. 180Vault does not process or store payment card information.
Auto-Renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) at the then-current price unless canceled before the renewal date.
Cancellation
You may cancel at any time via the subscriptions screen in your Google Play account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; your subscription remains active until that date. Canceling does not stop any letters you've already set to arrive every year — see “Yearly (Repeating) Letters” below.
Refunds
Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or by Google Play's refund policy.
Price Changes
180Vault may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new price.
Free Tier
Free-plan accounts are subject to storage, capsule, and feature limits as published at /timelock.
Yearly (Repeating) Letters
If you set a letter to arrive every year, that yearly schedule is not tied to keeping an active paid subscription. Once a yearly letter is scheduled, we continue delivering it on schedule even if your subscription lapses, is canceled, or is never renewed — including after your death, when no one is renewing it on your behalf — for as long as your account exists.
Plan limits apply only when you create a new letter beyond your current plan's capsule allowance — they never interrupt a yearly letter that is already scheduled. A yearly series keeps its place regardless of later plan changes.
You can turn off a yearly letter's repeating schedule at any time from within the letter itself; doing so does not affect deliveries that have already been sent.
8. Intellectual Property
All 180Vault software, branding, and content is owned by 180Vault. Your message content remains yours. We claim no ownership over content you create.
9. Privacy
Your use of the service is governed by our Privacy Policy, incorporated by reference here.
10. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The service is provided as-is. Message delivery is not guaranteed in all circumstances — factors including recipient email deliverability, network conditions, or force majeure events may affect delivery. 180Vault's liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless 180Vault from any claims arising from your use of the service, your content, or your violation of these terms.
12. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, including violations of the Acceptable Use section above. Upon termination, your data is handled per our retention policy. For voluntary account deletion, see “Account Deletion” above.
13. Changes to Terms
We will notify users of material changes to these terms. Continued use of the service after notification constitutes acceptance.
